I prefer eating fish raw or lightly marinated and this is a favorite of mine, easy to make, delicious, it’s a little bit like sushi without the rice…
200 g. raw tuna cut into small cubes (this is easier to cut if the tuna is semi-frozen)
1 large avocado cut into similar sized cubes
1 tablespoon toasted black sesame seeds
1 medium lemon, juiced
1 tablespoon sesame seed oil
1 teaspoon dijon mustard
1 green onion, minced (optional)
salt and pepper to taste
Make a vinaigrette with the lemon juice, sesame oil, mustard, salt and pepper.
Mix the vinaigrette into the tuna and avocado cubes so they are well coated.
Garnish with toasted sesame seeds.
Serve slightly chilled in a beautiful bowl.
Note: When I have a little green onion I sometimes add some to the mixture, but it’s really not essential.
